Plastering Renovations
Restoring wall surfaces
We have worked on many home renovations where the original wall and ceiling surfaces need plaster repairs, patching-up or a thin topcoat surface covering known as skimming, to bring the surface back to its former glory.
If the surface damage is extensive, we can use a combination of PVA adhesive and fibre tape to scrim over cracks and then apply a topcoat of plaster to create a smooth surface.
If the damage has been such that the plaster has been removed, we can render brick or block walls to create a level surface and the apply a topcoat of plaster to create a smooth plastered finish ready for decorating.
New Builds & Extensions
Preparing new wall surfaces
We have completed many projects working on new builds, home extensions and loft conversions. These modern structures are usually built with breeze blocks and stud walls which are covered in plasterboard, before being plastered.
As part of our complete plastering service, we can work on both interior and exterior wall plastering and ceilings.
For the interior we can install studwork, stud walls and plasterboard. This can then be finished with skimming; a topcoat of plaster which is skimmed over the wall surface to create smooth finish.
For the exterior walls of the building, we can also provide exterior rendering or pebble dashing services.
Decorating Plastered Walls & Ceilings

Planning your plastering
As with all construction and refurbishment projects, the key to minimising costs and completing on time is the planning. Our ‘professional tip’ for clients is to have a clear plan of action considering the work of each of the trades and the installation of, or any changes to:
If all the fittings are in place before our plasterers arrive it means we can then conceal any casing or unsightly items behind the clean lines of the plaster or plasterboard surfaces. Attempting this afterwards can mean that you’ll need to call us back to make-good the damage done to install these items.
